Q2: Can Taiwanese nationals use the Taiwan PASS?

A: Taiwan PASS includes a 3-day unlimited travel pass for Taiwan High-Speed Rail, available only for short-term foreign visitors. This product is not applicable to travelers entering with a Republic of China passport or holding a valid Republic of China residence permit.

Q3: Will I receive a physical Taiwan PASS after activation?

A: No, the Taiwan PASS is a digital pass. Please download the Taiwan PASS app and activate it by entering the ’Redemption Code.’ Once activated, you can view the included tickets . Select the ticket you want to use, and a QR code/Redemption Code will be generated.

Q4: How do I use my Taiwan PASS?

A: Please download the Taiwan PASS app from the App Store and activate it by entering the ’Redemption Code.’ Once activated, choose the transportation service you want to use, and a QR code will be generated for redemption.

Q5: Is there an activation period for the redemption code?

A: The activation period for the voucher serial numbers purchased through online channels is 365 days. The activation period for gift card serial numbers is until December 31, 2024. Registration in the app must be completed by this date (inclusive).

Q6: How long is the Taiwan PASS valid?

A: Once the redemption code is activated, it must be used within 365 days. The Pass is valid for 7days from the date of first use. For example, if the first ticket is redeemed and used on January 1, 2024, all tickets in the Pass will be valid until January 7, 2024, and expire after that date.

Q7: The Taipei, New Taipei, and Keelung 2-Day Pass offers access to which transportation vehicles?

Q15: Is it possible to make a reservation before using the transportation?

A: The Taiwan High-Speed Rail Unlimited 3-Day Pass and Taiwan Tourist Shuttle routes both allow advance reservations.
•For reservations for the Taiwan High-Speed Rail Unlimited 3-Day Pass, please refer to the answer to Q8 above.
•For Taiwan Tourist Shuttle routes, you can use the reservation service on the Taiwan PASS to reserve the route you want.

Q16: Regarding ’Taiwan Tourist Shuttle service | Reservation Service

A:
1.After completing the reservation, you still need to present the ’physical round-trip ticket’ for boarding.
2.The round trip for the reservation must be the same route with the redeemed round trip ticket. (For example, if reserving a schedule for the Alishan Route, you have to use the Alishan Route round-trip ticket for verification and redeem the paper ticket.)
3.After the reservation is complete, it will be shown on the page in the app. Please show the reserved schedule to station staff/driver during ticket collection for verification.

Q17: Can I change the reserved date for using Taiwan Tourist Shuttle service?

A: Yes, but modifications must be made within the specified time frame. You can check the modification period in the Taiwan PASS APP usage instructions.

Q18: Can I give the serial number to someone else if I will not use it?

A:
1. Serial Number that Hasn’t Been Bound:
You can directly give the serial number to another person for activation (the Taiwan High-Speed Rail Unlimited 3-Day Pass included. Foreign tourists use only; not applicable for locals).

2.Serial Number that Has Been Bound but Not Reserved, Used, or Redeemed for Any Item:
On the app’s homepage, tap ’More,’ go to ’Contact Us,’ and provide the redemption code (12 digits) to request unbinding.

3.Serial Number that Has Been Bound and Already Reserved, Used, or Redeemed for Any Item:
It cannot be transferred or provided to someone else.

Q19: What should I do if the serial number does not work or if there are problems during its usage?

A: Please click ’More’ at the bottom right corner of the app, then select ’Contact Us.’ You can input your query in the message and send it to our customer service email. Q4: What is the difference between "Taiwan PASS | Taiwan Railways Hualien Revitalization Plan" and "Taiwan PASS | Taiwan Railways" versions?

Both "Taiwan PASS | Taiwan Railways Hualien Revitalization Plan" and "Taiwan PASS | Taiwan Railways" versions include the "Taiwan Railways 5-day Unlimited Pass," "Choose 1 Metro Pass," and "Choose 1 Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Pass."

A: No, you will not receive a physical Taiwan PASS. Taiwan PASS is an electronic certificate. Please download the Taiwan PASS APP and activate it by entering the "redemption code". Once activated, you will be able to see the included products. Select the desired product, and a QR code/redemption code will be displayed.

Q6: The two tickets with the "two people traveling together, one person free" promotion can be used separately?

A: There are no restrictions on usage!
When purchasing a set of tickets, you will receive "two sets of redemption codes". You can redeem them separately in the Taiwan PASS APP on two different phones, or you can redeem and use them within the same Taiwan PASS APP on one phone.

Q7: What is the validity period of the product?

A: This package ticket is a special promotional ticket. The final exchange and refund deadline is November 30, 2024.
Refunds will not be possible after November 30!

Once any product is activated, the ticket will have a 7-day validity period, which means the ticket must be fully redeemed within 7 days from the first use (including the first day of use).
For example, if the first product is activated on July 1, 2024, the latest redemption deadline for the remaining products in the ticket will be July 7, 2024.

Q8: What are the usage restrictions for the Taiwan PASS | Taiwan Railways Hualien Revitalization Plan?

Q11: Do I have to use the TR-PASS for Five Days of Unlimited Travel immediately upon exchange?

A:
When passengers use the Taiwan Pass to exchange for the "TR-Pass 5-day pass" at a Taiwan Railways ticket counter, they must immediately select a "start date" (which must be within 30 days from the day of redemption) to begin using the pass continuously from that selected start date.
It is "not allowed" to skip or choose different dates for usage, and once the start date is selected, it cannot be changed.
For example, if a passenger goes to a Taiwan Railways ticket counter before July 1st to exchange for the TR Pass, they can choose any day between July 1st and July 30th as the start date and use it continuously for 5 days from the selected start date. If the pass is not fully used within the validity period stated on the ticket, it will expire.

Q12: Does the “TR-PASS 5-day pass" include seat reservations?

A: You can reserve a seat in advance at any Taiwan Railways station ticket window across Taiwan or make an online reservation (but you still need to pick up your ticket in person at the station).

1.To reserve a seat, you must present the envelope (including this ticket) to the ticket counter staff for processing.
2.Once the ticket is sold and confirmed, the validity date cannot be changed.
3.Once the seat reservation is completed, the seat ticket is only valid for the train on the date of issue. For each train and each day, you are only allowed to reserve a seat for the same section once. If a seat has already been reserved for the same time period on the same day, you may not request a seat reservation for the same section again with the same ticket unless you have cancelled the reservation before the "boarding time" on the seat ticket. In such cases, you are only allowed to carry the seat ticket and ask the station to endorse it for boarding the nearest train of the same or equivalent class without occupying a seat. However, this rule does not apply to train types that do not allow travel without a ticket during the sales period (for example, the Puyuma Express or Taroko Express trains).

Q13: Can the TR-PASS 5-day pass be reserved online?

A:
1.Reservations can be made at any train station ticket window across Taiwan, and you can also use online booking (but you still need to go to the ticket window to pick up your tickets).
2.If using online booking information, please pay special attention! Go to the train station window to reserve your seat with the "unpaid status" from your online reservation, and bring your online booking information to the Taiwan Railways ticket window to reserve your seat.
3.However, booking information for which the credit card payment has been completed online, physical train tickets that have been paid for with cash or a credit card, or mobile tickets that have already been picked up, "cannot" be used to reserve seats with the tickets provided by TR-PASS.

Q14: After using the TR-PASS 5-day pass, can reserved seat tickets be modified/canceled?

A: Cancellations or ticket exchanges are possible!
To cancel or exchange a ticket (seat reservation) after making a reservation, you should bring the unused seat ticket and the TR-PASS voucher to the train station before the departure time stated on the seat ticket.
You can apply for the cancellation or exchange without a handling fee; however, this is limited to once per day for the same section or train number. If you wish to exchange the ticket (seat reservation) a second time on the same day, a fee will be charged according to the regular ticket rules, which is determined by the number of days before the travel
