|Life Science Hall – Where Do We Come From?
Where did humans come from? And how did nature develop life? In the Life Science Hall of the National Museum of Natural Science, 13 exhibition areas vividly showcase the phenomena of nature and the dynamics of evolution. From the origins of life to the rise of various life forms, the hall brings these stories to life. In addition to the must-see dinosaur models, the exhibition also features one of the world’s most coveted museum treasures—an important artifact from ancient Egyptian culture: a mummy. Explore the mysterious afterlife where the ancient Egyptians believed body and spirit coexisted!
▲The most popular dinosaur model at the museum stretches up to 7 meters in length. Not only does it move, but it also lets out mighty roars! Its lifelike realism makes kids both thrilled and a little scared—captivated by the experience!

|Human Cultures Hall – Masters of Ancient Living Wisdom!
In the Human Cultures Hall of the museum, visitors can explore seven themed sections: Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese Science and Technology, Agricultural Ecology, Ancient Storytelling, Han Chinese Spiritual Life, Taiwan’s Austronesian Peoples, and Oceania. These exhibits not only showcase the ingenious inventions of our ancestors but also provide insight into the evolution of human culture over time!

|Earth Environment Hall – What Does Earth Look Like?
Do you know what the world looks like under a microscope? Have you ever seen the world’s largest deep-sea squid? In the Earth Environment Hall, you’ll discover our planet from a variety of perspectives—gaining a deeper understanding of the Earth we call home. It’s a place that inspires awe at the vastness of nature, reminds us of humanity’s small place within it, and highlights just how precious our planet truly is.
▲Through seven realistic and lifelike diorama displays, the Earth’s ecosystems are brought to life—allowing you to experience the wonders of the natural world without ever leaving the museum. No need to travel the globe to feel the excitement of discovering that “the world is vast and full of marvels”!
▲The Architeuthis dux (giant squid) on display on the first floor of the Earth Environment Hall is the largest specimen in the world exhibited in a standing position!
The life history of the giant squid remains a mystery. It appears in the waters around New Zealand between December and March, coming to shallower depths to reproduce. After April, it vanishes without a trace—suggesting it may be migratory. However, its spawning grounds and other aspects of its life cycle are still completely unknown.
