| Alishan Station

Alishan Station is the terminal station of the Alishan Forest Railway and also serves as the starting point for the Zhushan, Zhaoping, and Shenmu branch lines.

In the 1970s, a surge in tourism led to overcrowding in the Zhaoping area, prompting the need to expand the Alishan Forest Recreation Area. Construction of a new station began in August 1977 and was completed on January 11, 1981. To distinguish it from the still-operational old Zhaoping Station, it was named "Alishan New Station" at the time.

Following the devastating 921 Earthquake in 1999, the new station was declared structurally unsafe and subsequently closed. The main line terminus was temporarily moved back to Zhaoping Station.

After 2003, to reduce the operational burden on Zhaoping Station, the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency built a temporary station next to the Alishan train depot. A new station was later reconstructed on the original site, and the newly completed Alishan Station was officially reopened in September 2007.
