Tropical depression likely to develop into a typhoon – Alishan Forest Railway to suspend all services from July 5 to 8 as a precautionary measure
According to the latest information from the Central Weather Administration, Tropical Depression TD06 may develop into a typhoon. Sea and land typhoon warnings are expected to be issued on July 5 (morning and afternoon, respectively), and lifted around July 7. Rainfall has already begun in the Chiayi area. To ensure operational safety, the Alishan Forest Railway will suspend all services from July 5 to 8 as a precautionary measure.
Further service resumption will be announced after safety checks and route inspections are completed, depending on typhoon conditions.
Hinoki Village and the Alishan Forestry Village will also close in accordance with Chiayi City Government’s suspension of work and classes.
